The MFI-17 Super Mushshak (The Agile) is a light-weight, robust, two/three seats, single engine, predominantly all-metal aircraft with fixed, non-retractable, tricycle landing gear. It has been developed to meet US FAR 23 certification in Normal and Utility categories. It can operate from short, unprepared strips. It has a 260 hp piston engine, state-of-the-art glass cockpit suite options, environmental control system and dual control Elevator and Rudder trim systems.

Training Role


Super Mushshak meets the requirements of modern primary training syllabus and is an ideal basic trainer suited for:

Cockpit Design Criteria
  • Spacious side by side cockpit provides desired contact between the pilot and the co-pilot /observer or between the student and the instructor for effective "watch me"instruction
  • Adjustable seats fitted with straps incorporating auto lock inertia reels
  • Typical avionics equipment configuration includes UHF/VHF radio, GPS, VOR, ILS, Terrain avoidance, Traffic collision, Transponder, ADF etc
  • Third crew member can be accommodated in the rear cabin
The basic design philosophy behind Super Mushshak offers an aircraft with:
  • Flexibility, covering both primary flying training and army co-operation
  • Excellent forward and downward visibility supplemented by good rearward visibility
  • Good ground clearance
  • Heavy duty landing gear
  • Large baggage compartment in the rear part of the cabin easily accessible through a door on the port side of the fuselage which can also accommodate a third crew member
  • Good handling characteristics
  • Good short/rough field performance
  • Aerobatic capability, maximum limit load factor +5.4 / -2.7 in basic acrobatic category
  • Ease of maintenance and repair even in field
  • Structure life of 11,500 hrs - extendable upto 12,500 hrs

Fuel System
  • Based on two integral fuel tanks holding a total of 47 US gallons
  • Bendix RSA type fuel injection system
  • Houses Engine Driven Fuel pump for normal operation
  • Electric Fuel Pump for emergency conditions

Flight Control System
  • Efficient dual flight controls including conventional center stick type control columns and adjustable rudder pedals
  • Primary control surfaces operated through direct mechanical linkage

  • Avionics suite: Customized Avionics suite or glass cockpit can be added as per customers request in place of conventional SMK configuration. Options include:
    • Dynon Skyview Classic (SV-D1000)
    • Garmin G-950 NXi
    • Genesys Aerosystems
  • Sun Blinds: Canopy Perspex as well as rear Cabin Perspex can be provided with adjustable sun-blind
  • Third Seat: Aircraft incorporates fitting for the installation of third seat in rear portion of the cabin
