Stretch Forming is a metal forming process in which a piece of sheet metal is stretched and bent simultaneously over a die in order to form large contoured part. Stretch Forming machine installed in sheet metal shop area form Parts of aluminum alloys up to size of 3200x1200 mm and 1 to 5 mm thickness.
Hydroforming is a metal forming technology based on the application of pressurized liquid media against a die to generate defined work piece shape from sheet metal. Hydraulic Fluid Cell Press is installed in sheet metal shop. As per its bed size parts up to 3500x1000 mm and 10 mm thick can be formed on this machine by applying a maximum pressure force of 1400 bar.
Shot Peen Forming
Shot Peen Forming uses the compression stresses induced by controlled shot peening to alter the stress pattern, magnitude and depth to deliberately create a change in parts shape. General curves within the elastic range of material are regularly formed to constant tolerance. Shot Peening forming machine installed in sheet metal shop can form parts of size 8000 x 250 mm and 50 mm thickness. Steel shots used are S-230, S-460 and S-660. Maximum pressure force of 6 bar can be applied for forming of parts.
Manual Press Forming
Forming technology where a pressing force is applied to a material to deform it to match the size and shape of die and material then maintains that shape forever. Manual press forming in sheet metal shop is carried out with die, templates and hand forming tools.
Welding is a fabrication process whereby two or more parts are fused together by means of heat, pressure or both, forming a joint as the parts cool. Welding techniques that are used in sheet metal shop are Tig, MIG, Gas welding and electric welding.
Heat Treatment is the process of heating metal without letting it reach its melting points and then cooling the metal in a controlled way to achieve desired mechanical properties. In sheet metal shop Air Circulating Furnaces are installed to carry out solution heat treatment, Artificial aging and annealing on Aluminum alloys as per technical requirements.
